BKIK’s IB Programme
As one of the most sought-after certified International Baccalaureate (IB) kindergartens in Guangzhou’s Central Business District, BKIK is dedicated to providing a vibrant, enriching, and engaging early childhood education. With over eight years of experience in delivering the IB curriculum, we have perfected an inquiry-based learning approach that encourages exploration, creativity, and a lifelong love for learning.
Our IB programme is designed to celebrate and promote individuality by nurturing key learner profiles. We aim to cultivate skillful communicators, courageous risk-takers who are unafraid to embrace new challenges, and disciplined, caring individuals. This personalised approach ensures that each child is able to engage with the curriculum in ways that are both meaningful and comprehensive, fostering a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them.
At BKIK, we recognise that young children learn best through sensory experiences, personal interests, and hands-on activities. Our IB programme is carefully crafted to provide diverse learning experiences that promote learner agency, enhance executive functioning, and support the holistic development of each child. By empowering children to take ownership of their learning journey, we help them build the confidence, resilience, and critical thinking skills necessary to succeed in a rapidly changing world.
Our commitment to a high-quality IB education ensures that every child at BKIK not only achieves academic excellence but also develops into a well-rounded, empathetic, and globally-minded individual.
BKIK Multidisciplinary Programme
At BKIK, our multidisciplinary programme offers a unique, carefully tailored educational experience designed specifically for young learners, integrating a broad spectrum of subjects such as English, Mathematics, and Mandarin. Our curriculum goes beyond traditional academic learning by fostering critical thinking, creativity, and the development of essential life skills, equipping children with the tools they need to navigate and excel in an increasingly complex world.
By blending the best of Eastern and Western educational philosophies, our multidisciplinary approach creates a culturally rich and dynamic learning environment that encourages curiosity, celebrates diversity, and respects individual learning styles. This balanced and inclusive framework enables our students to thrive academically while developing a global perspective and a deep appreciation for different cultures.
Our programme is designed to inspire a love of learning and a strong foundation for future success, ensuring that every child at BKIK is not only prepared for academic achievement but also for meaningful, thoughtful engagement with the world around them.
BKIK Enrichment Programme
At BKIK, we recognise that the arts are fundamental to children’s holistic development, enhancing not just their creativity but also their cognitive, social, and emotional growth. To cultivate a lifelong appreciation for the arts, we offer a comprehensive visual arts programme led by our specialist art teacher. Our curriculum is carefully designed to stimulate imagination and creativity through diverse activities, including 2D and 3D art projects and various forms of handcrafts. These activities not only develop fine motor skills and artistic techniques but also encourage critical thinking and self-expression, empowering children to explore their ideas and emotions through different artistic mediums.
In addition to visual arts, our music programme provides a rich, immersive experience that nurtures children’s musical abilities from an early age. Led by a specialist music teacher, our curriculum fosters a deep appreciation for music, starting with our youngest learners in the Pre-K class. Children are introduced to various musical concepts, including rhythm, melody, and basic music theory, through engaging activities such as learning different types of percussion instruments and songs. This early exposure to music enhances their auditory discrimination skills, memory, and emotional intelligence, laying a strong foundation for future musical pursuits and a lifelong love for music.
At BKIK, we are also dedicated to promoting trilingual proficiency in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. Our unique location in one of China’s most vibrant and diverse cities provides us with the perfect opportunity to incorporate Cantonese into our language programme. By teaching Cantonese alongside English and Mandarin, we help children embrace linguistic diversity and cultivate a deep understanding of local culture and traditions. This integration of languages enriches their cognitive development, enhances cultural awareness, and fosters adaptability in an increasingly globalised world. We believe that mastering multiple languages from a young age prepares our children to navigate and thrive in multicultural environments.
Nonetheless, we are committed to nurturing the whole child, and we believe that a strong foundation in physical development is integral to achieving this. Our specialised Physical Education (PE) programme, led by an experienced PE teacher, is designed to develop children's gross motor skills, balance, coordination, and spatial awareness. Through carefully structured activities and games, our programme promotes locomotor and non-locomotor skills while also fostering essential social skills such as teamwork, communication, and leadership. By engaging in regular physical activity, children build not only physical strength and endurance but also confidence, resilience, and a positive attitude towards a healthy and active lifestyle. We believe that a robust physical education programme is a cornerstone of comprehensive child development, contributing to their success both inside and outside the classroom.
Co-curricular Activities
At BKIK, we consider co-curricular activities (CCA) to be a vital extension of our learning programme, designed to complement and enhance the academic experience by fostering the holistic development of each child. Our CCAs are thoughtfully curated each semester to align with the evolving interests, talents, and developmental needs of our students, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to explore new areas, cultivate passions, and build confidence in a supportive environment.
Our diverse range of co-curricular activities spans the arts, sports, technology, and various skill-building pursuits, providing children with enriching experiences that promote creativity, teamwork, and resilience. By engaging in these activities, students develop essential life skills such as leadership, communication, and problem-solving, which are crucial for their personal growth and future success.
BKIK’s comprehensive approach to co-curricular programming not only enriches the educational journey but also instills a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom. By providing opportunities for meaningful and well-rounded engagement, we lay a strong foundation for lifelong learning, preparing our students to thrive in an ever-changing world.
The BKIK's programme provides a comprehensive educational experience through three main domains: the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IBPYP), interdisciplinary studies in English, Mathematics, and Mandarin/Cantonese, and enrichment programmes in Visual Arts, Performing Arts, and Life Sciences. Together, these components promote lifelong learning, foster student agency, and develop trilingual capabilities, preparing children for a bright and engaged future.
